Eisenhower State Park | Exploring the Texas State Park System (1970s)

Dwight Eisenhower may have grown up in Abilene, Kansas, but he was born in Denison, Texas. The Eisenhower Birthplace State Historic Site, managed by the Texas Historical Commission, preserves the home where the late president and five-star general was born, while the Eisenhower State Park, managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, entices visitors to the shores of nearby Lake Texoma with promises of hiking, fishing, and camping. This 1970s government film segment provides a brief introduction to the park and its recreational opportunities.
