Hueco Tanks | The Lieban Collection (1990s)

Named after the water-holding depressions that pocket rock faces in the desert basin, Hueco Tanks State Park has nurtured human habitation for 10,000 years. Many Indigenous cultures consider the area sacred ground, including the Tigua Indians of Ysleta del Sur Pueblo, a Native American tribal community that settled in the El Paso area in the seventeenth century. In this 1990s special report for WFAA-TV, Joe Sierra and Marty Silva bring younger generations to the park to share Tiguan ancestral history and traditions.
