The Johnsons of Johnson City (1963)

The LBJ Ranch was more than the Johnson family home. As a popular location for foreign state visits, party summits, and election campaign functions, the property also played a significant role in 1960s American politics. President Lyndon B. Johnson conducted much of his official business at the ranch, earning it the nickname, "Texas White House." Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park encompasses the LBJ Ranch as well as parts of nearby Johnson City, including Johnson's boyhood home. This special broadcast for Houston's KPRC-TV captures News Director Ray Miller on a visit to the LBJ Ranch to speak with then-Vice President Johnson about his family's long history in the area.
