Bastrop State Park | Made in Texas (1990)

To create harmony with the surrounding landscape, Bastrop State Park architect Arthur Fehr directed Civilian Conservation Corps Companies 1805 and 1811 to use native woods and sandstone. The craftsmanship of the park's facilities contributed to its recognition as a National Historic Landmark in 1997—making Bastrop State Park one of only seven CCC-built parks in the country to receive the distinction. This segment from a 1990 episode of Made in Texas, a PBS television program promoting the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, showcases the recreational opportunities available within its "Lost Pines."
