Caddo Lake State Park | Texas: Land of Contrast (1966)

People have lived in the wilderness surrounding Caddo Lake for at least 12,000 years, including the Caddo Native American tribes that gave the lake its name. The surrounding forests and wetlands are home to hundreds of native species of flora and fauna, many of them endangered. Another possible rare inhabitant: Bigfoot. The Texas Bigfoot Research Center hosts a conference for believers in nearby Jefferson every year. Produced by the Texas Highway Department's Travel and Information Division, this 1966 promotional film segment takes viewers on a guided tour of Caddo Lake State Park's natural resources and recreational amenities.
